All clear given in Robley Drivey gas leak investigation

UPDATE: Lafayette fire officials say there was no gas leak on Robley Drive.

The service company checked the underground storage tanks at gas stations in the area, and found nothing. Firefighters gave the all clear, a spokesman said.

Officials suspect someone may have dumped gas in the storm drain. They will continue to monitor, the spokesman said.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Lafayette Fire Department is on the scene of a liquid gas leak in the 700 block of Robley Drive.

Lafayette firefighters received the call about a strong gas odor just after 10:00 am Thursday. Hazmat crews say they found a small amount of gas leaking in a nearby storm drain. The company who is in charge of maintaining the underground storage tanks are on scene testing the tanks for any leaks. No evacuation orders have been issued.
