Classes to resume in St. Landry following Monday storms

Due to weather-related issues, some schools in Acadiana will be closed today, March 31.

St. Landry Parish: UPDATE: Power has been restored to Grand Prairie Elementary, North Central High, and Palmetto Elementary. Classes will resume Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The three schools had closed due to Monday's storm.

Officials from St. Martin Parish say: "Due to extreme flooding and power outages, all schools in upper St. Martin Parish will be closing. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but the wellbeing of our students and staff is our priority."

In Iberia Parish:
Acadiana Christian School in New Iberia is closed due to localized flooding on their campus. They will reopen tomorrow.

In Lafayette Parish, Gethsemane Christian Academy is also closed, according to school officials.
