Victim identified, suspect wanted in Rayne fatal shooting

The victim and suspect in a fatal shooting in Rayne have been identified.

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly says the victim in the Monday afternoon shooting on The Boulevard and its intersection with Arceneaux Drive has been identified as 38-year-old Dalvin Washington from Rayne.

A suspect, 27-year-old Trey J Prejean was identified and a warrant issued for his arrest for second degree murder. No bond was set.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Prejean, they are asked to contact the Rayne Police Department at 337-334-4215 or call an anonymous tip into Crimestoppers of Acadia Parish, 788-TIPS (789- 8477) or use the P3 app.

Callers could receive up to a $1,000 cash award.
