Children in Acadia Parish will be waking up and heading off to school Thursday morning.
While it may be the first day, teachers have been preparing all summer for the school year.
Superintendent Scott Richard says technology is going to play a major role in how students learn in the coming years.
"As tech changes the way we learn, parents can expect the kids to learn more about technology and experience hands on technology," said Richard.
Students in Vermilion, St. Landry and St. Mary parishes also start school on Thursday.
