Eunice Police say that a 13-year-old Eunice Jr. High student has been arrested following the discovery of a bomb threat at the school.
The threat caused the evacuation of Eunice Jr. High and Eunice Elementary.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot says that the threat was found in the bathroom at the school written on a urinal. The 13-year-old student was allegedly seen leaving the bathroom shortly before the threat was found. When questioned, Fontenot says the student allegedly admitted to writing the threat.
Fontenot says that two other students were questioned but were found to not be involved in the threat.
Schools were returned to normal operations at around 9:40 a.m. Thursday.
Officials say that during the evacuation, students were taken to a safe location. Both schools say that the evacuation was done as a precaution and that all students were safe.
Parents were not allowed to checkout their children at the time of the evacuation for safety and accountability reasons, according to the Marshal's Office.
