The Acadia Parish School System says they are following protocol in handling an incident involving a student and a tack.
Parents of Crowley Middle School took to social media telling other parents about the incident which happened Monday, alerting them to check with their children to see if they were involved.
According to the post online, a student concealed the tack on his hand and began giving high-fives to other students.
Acadia Parish Superintendent Scott Richard says that the incident is being investigated at this time. Richard could not say if any or how many students were involved or injured because of the student with the tack. He says appropriate discipline will be administered to the student (s) involved once an investigation is complete
Richard reiterated that he wants to ensure parents that safety is their top priority at Acadia Parish schools.
