The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily suspended operations at the Eunice Post Office, located at 250 Laurel Avenue, according to a release.
"We apologize for any inconvenience that may be experienced. Currently, there is no timeline for resumption of operations at the Eunice Post Office. The Postal Service will provide regular updates to our customers as soon as information becomes available," the release states.
A flyer posted by the Developing Eunice Facebook page indicates the closure is for "safety concerns." No other information was provided. We've reached out to the USPS for more information but have not heard back from them yet.
Eunice customers may conduct retail transactions at the Lawtell Post Office, 10207 Prejean Hwy, Lawtell, LA 70550. P.O. Box customers also may pick up their mail at this location. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Post Office is closed on Sunday.
Delivery operations have been temporarily relocated to the Opelousas Post Office located at 152 Wallior St., Opelousas, LA 70570; however, Eunice customers should see no change in their mail delivery service.
