A drive-thru luncheon on Friday honored local farmers for their contributions to the culture and economy in Acadia Parish.
The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Supreme Rice held their annual Farmers' Appreciation Event at the Wells Fargo Building in Crowley
"It is our hope that these tickets and plates make it into the hardworking hands of the integral farm workers and employees who make agriculture a mainstay in Acadia Parish's local economy," organizers said.
Chamber of Commerce Chairman Chance Henry added that the appreciation event illustrates to Acadia Parish residents that, "We can still move forward through COVID, no matter what the obstacles are, and we can push through and find a way to overcome those obstacles."
Plate lunches of seafood etouffee were served in a drive-through pick-up format from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
