The International Rice Festival in Crowley has been placed on hold for 2020.
The board of directors for the festival says that they have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the state. With current guidelines and information from the state, officials say they believe holding off on the festival would be best for the safety and well being of the volunteers and visitors to the festival.
All positions currently held including executive board, board of directors, queen and Presidential Party will remain in place until the 84th international Rice Festival is held, regardless of the date, according to officials.
The Rice Festival was set to kick off on October 15, 2020.
