An Abbeville man was arrested in connection to a shots fired incident at a residence on Schlessinger Street.
Police say they responded to reports of shots fired at around 10:45 am on Saturday, September 26.
An investigation found that 28-year-old Roland Bernard III had allegedly fired several rounds at a vehicle while driving his own.
Police say the victim's vehicle was struck numerous times by Bernard.
Following the incident, Bernard was located by patrol officers and arrested.
He was booked into the Abbeville Police Department on the following charges:
- Attempted 1st Degree Murder
- Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
- Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
- Obstruction of Justice
Bernard was then transported to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
Police say an investigation into this incident is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.
