METAIRIE (KATC) – New Orleans Saints defensive tackle David Onyemata is facing a one game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Onyemata was arrested in February and charged with possession of marijuana after his New Orleans apartment was raided.
The former fourth round draft picked posted 4.5 sacks in 2018 and was penciled in as a starter at defensive tackle for New Orleans while Sheldon Rankins recovers from an Achilles injury.
New Orleans hosts Houston on September 9 to open the season.
