Thank you June cool front as it felt amazing today.
If you were stuck at work all day make sure you get outside this evening to enjoy the pleasant temperatures and humidity.
By Wednesday morning it will feel even more refreshing with lows in the 60s.
Wednesday afternoon will look and feel very similar to today with some mid to high level clouds streaking across blue skies with highs a couple degrees warmer in the upper 80s but the humidity will remain at comfortable levels.
On Thursday another cool front will swing through South Louisiana sending a re-enforcing shot of dry air creating another pleasant day although the dry air will heat up a little bit better as highs could warm back into the lower 90s.
Friday high pressure will slide off to the east and winds will turn more easterly pushing a tad more humidity over the region.
A warm front will then lift out of the Gulf Saturday afternoon sparking off a few scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The warm front will push farther north on Father’s Day sending the warm, sticky air back over Acadiana as heat indices will once again be near triple digits.
Although it will be hot and humid we should stay mostly dry for any outdoor Father’s Day activities.
Looking ahead to next week it is full on summer again with oppressive heat and humid with highs in the low to mid 90s and feel like temperatures between 100-105 each afternoon.
And with the return of the summertime heat and humidity there will be the slight chance for a pop-up afternoon shower or thunderstorm next week but rain chances will only be about 20-30% each day.
