Flood threat for Acadiana into tonight; Wednesday afternoon video briefing

Posted

Here’s the latest model data and forecast thinking…expect rainfall amounts anywhere from 2-10″ across Acadiana.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of Acadiana with the National Weather Service indicated rainfall of 2-5″ with isolated higher amounts will be common along and north of the I-10 corridor, while rainfall totals of 6-10″ with isolated higher amounts will be to the south.

Areas most likely at the risk of flooding rains will be overnight across extreme Southwest Louisiana eastward, primarily along and south of the I-10 corridor/coastal Acadiana parishes.

See the latest video briefing below for details.

Will have more coming up on KATC-TV 3: Acadiana’s Newschannel at 5pm.
