Hemphill breaks single-season HR record

Posted

OKLAHOMA CITY (KATC) – The final weekend of Bailey Hemphill’s season will be one she doesn’t forget.

The Alabama junior and St. Thomas More product broke the school’s home run and RBI record in a blowout win Saturday over Florida. The Crimson Tide avoided elimination winning twice to advance to the Women’s College World Series semifinals.

There on Sunday the Tide stayed alive with a 2-0 win over Oklahoma before losing 7-3 in a decisive game two.

Alabama’s season comes to an end in the CWS but not before Hemphill’s 26 home runs and 86 RBI rewrote the school’s records.
