Thibodaux police investigate homicide

Thibodaux police are investigating a homicide that happened early Friday morning.

At 2:06 a.m., the Thibodaux Police Department were notified of a shooting near the intersection of Midland Drive and Plantation Road.

Medical personnel arrived, but the victim was later pronounced dead on scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.

Police are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time.

A suspect hasn’t been identified, but investigators do not believe this is a random shooting.

“We will utilize every resource available to apprehend the at-large suspect and any other suspects that may become relevant to the investigation,” said Chief Bryan Zeringue. “This was an isolated event, and the safety of all citizens is our number one priority.”
