On Tuesday, President Trump will tour a “liquified natural gas” facility in Cameron Parish.

Preparations for the presidential visit are continuing Monday night. Meanwhile, some in Cameron Parish are showing their excitement for Trump’s visit.

Cameron LNG is wrapping up preparing for president trump’s visit and residents in the Hackberry area are buzzing with excitement, hoping to catch a glimpse of the president.

When driving through Hackberry, it’s hard to miss Ricky Scott’s yard. Out front, two flags fly. The Stars and Stripes and a Trump “Make America Great Again” flag.

“we’re going to be put on the map from Trump being here. That’s right, yeah,” Scott said.

Wearing his MAGA hat and Trump 2020 pin, Scott is hopeful he and his wife can catch a glimpse of the president and his motorcade.

“I really was expecting a little bit more that we’d be able to get closer to him and make a little more contact, but seems like a thing where he’ll have to be careful about security and all that,” Scott said.

Scott says he also wishes he could share a home cooked meal with the president.

“Mustard greens and pork salad today. I’d really like for him to come down and get a plate. I decided to cook it today, but I’ll still have a plate leftover tomorrow if he wants one,” Scott said.

Just up the road from where President Trump will speak, a couple from Colorado is selling everything with the president’s likeness, hoping to capitalize off his visit.

“We get a lot of we hope we get to see Trump, I have to buy something to represent Trump. We get a lot of different people,” said Laura Chacon

So what are some of the most popular items sold?

“The MAGA hat with Trump’s signature on it. We also have bobbleheads, t-shirts and flags as well,” Chacon explained.

KATC will have team coverage of president trump’s visit to southwest Louisiana from the moment he lands until he takes off.
