Cleco to waive late fees, no service disconnects during computer upgrade

Posted

PINEVILLE, La. – Cleco has upgraded its computer system to better serve the needs of its customers. During this upgrade, the company’s online payment services have been unavailable and, while all customer service representatives are available on the phones and in customer service offices, the company has experienced higher call volume and increased foot traffic at its offices. As such, some customers might experience an above average wait time.

To pay a Cleco bill, customers should:

· Visit a Cleco customer service office. If visiting after hours, payment can be dropped using the night deposit box connected to the building.

· Visit an authorized pay agent. Locations can be found at cleco.com.

· Mail to Cleco Power LLC

“We understand some customers are unable to travel to a physical location to pay their bill or prefer to pay their bill using our online services,” said Shirley Turner, vice president of customer experience. “Cleco will waive late fees incurred on customer accounts between April 29, 2019 and June 17, 2019, and there will be no service disconnects prior to June 17, 2019. Furthermore, Cleco will never disconnect a customer’s service without notice.

“We apologize for this inconvenience,” continued Turner. “Our priorities are to provide safe, reliable power and an exemplary level of customer service. This is the largest technology project in Cleco’s 85-year history, and we are confident this new system will offer an unparalleled customer experience.”
