LAFAYETTE, La. – TSA is offering travel advice and insight about prohibited items that have been confiscated at Lafayette Regional Airport.

Last year, thousands of pounds of prohibited items were stopped at TSA checkpoints across the state. Among the items: knives, brass knuckles and 95 guns. Six of which were found at Lafayette Regional.

“If you need to travel with your firearm, it can be in your checked bag, but it must be unloaded, in a locked, hard-sided case and declared to the airline when you check in,” said Sari Koshetz, Spokesperson, TSA.
