Lafayette (KATC) – Louisiana native Regis Prograis will fight in a world semifinal bout in Lafayette.
The New Orleans native road in on a firetruck to his pre-fight press conference Tuesday. Prograis will fight Kiryl Relikh in the World Boxing Super Series in the CajunDome April 27. The fight will be streamed on DAZN. First responders will get in free to the event.
Prograis beat Terry Flanagan in October in his quart-final match-up. Prograis is the top seed in the tournament (23-0.) He’s got 19 knockouts and plenty of confidence to boot.
“I don’t study my opponents,” he said Tuesday. “I don’t worry about em. I just do me. This is my history. This is the beginning of my history of being a world champion. Once you’re a world champion you can’t take that away from me. I can go broke the rest of my life, but I always will be known as a world champ.
