Voters in Jefferson Davis Parish will decide on March 30 whether to build a new elementary school in Jennings.
The parish chamber of commerce teamed up with the school system for a forum discussing their plans, a timeline and funding.
School administrators say there’s no need for a millage or sales tax increase, but an extension.
“That’s a hard deal to beat,” said Kirk Credeur, Superintendent, Jefferson Davis Parish. “A lot of communities would love to have it where taxes weren’t going up and they still got a new school. So we’re very happy to present that. The voters will tell us whether or not they support that on March 30.”
