FBI: Woman wanted for kidnapping arrested in Beaumont

UPDATE: The FBI Houston Office says the woman wanted in connection with a kidnapping has been arrested.

Lanyale Briana Briggs was taken into custody by the FBI Wednesday afternoon  in Beaumont, Texas.

The FBI is asking for help locating a kidnapping suspect.

On March 5, 2019, Beaumont Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Avenue B located in Beaumont, Texas. The resulting investigation determined that Lanyale Briana Briggs (age 29 at the time of the incident) allegedly assaulted a woman from Jefferson County, Texas, and took the victim across state lines into Louisiana, according to investigators.

The FBI and Beaumont Police are interested in any information regarding the location of suspect Lanyale Briana Briggs. Law enforcement authorities believe she is likely in Beaumont, Texas; Lake Charles, Louisiana; or Houston, Texas.

On March 7, 2019, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued an arrest warrant for Briggs, after charging her with kidnapping.
