Lead Counselor Audra Desselies and current YCP Cadet Kaylee Jordan dropped in for GMA today to chat about the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program.

The mission of the program is to intervene in and reclaim the lives of 16 to 18 year-old youths, producing program graduates with the values, life skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to succeed as productive citizens.

Kaylee, a cadet who is graduating in March, explained that this program helped her grow mentally and physically. She joined the program because she was going down the wrong path and she felt she needed to better herself in order to get somewhere in life. After she graduates, the teen plans on joining the Air Force.

Audra Desselies gave information on the upcoming session at the Gillis Long Center.

There will be two interviews held in Lafayette for this session. The first of the two Lafayette interviews will be held this Saturday, February 23, at 10 a.m. The interview will be held at the National Guard Armory on Surrey Street.
