A Kaplan High School student was arrested for multiple charges on Friday including possession of a gun on campus.
During a search at the school, a K-9 officer alerted his handler of the threat. Guns, ammunition, alcohol, and waterfowl killed out of season were located inside the student’s vehicle, according to Paul Hebert, Vermilion Parish School Board. The student went hunting before school, Hebert said.
Wildlife and Fisheries and Kaplan Police are the lead investigators.
