Two hunting dogs in Rapides Parish are back with their owners after police say they were stolen in December.

Deputies say that on December 13,  2018, deputies responded to a report of the theft of two hunting dogs taken from the area of Lonzie Doyle Road in the Plainview community in Rapides Parish.

A suspect 22-year-old Hunter Webb was arrested in connection with the theft. He was arrested and booked on two counts of felony theft and criminal trespassing. He has since been released.

Deputies took the initial report and forwarded it to Sheriff’s Detectives and Animal Control Deputies in the event they may find the dogs at large.

On January 16, 2019, detectives say they received a tip that one of the hunting dogs was sold to a person in Deville.  Detectives made contact with the individual who stated that Webb had sold him the dog.

Detectives then made contact with Webb at his residence where the other dog in question was located.  Both dogs were recovered and returned to their owner.

Webb was taken into custody and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was later released on a $1000 bond.
