LAFAYETTE (KATC) Despite a disappointing game against Georgia State last week (0 points, 0-3 shooting, 5 fouls) Bob Marlin slid junior P.J. Hardy into the lineup and got just what he needed.

The junior guard from Lake Charles rewarded his coach with 12 points, including three three-point buckets and a handful of assists and steals in a 2-point win over Georgia Southern.

“He did a good job and hit the big 3 pointer that got us the lead back late,” said Marlin. “I’m certainly proud of him and he’s working hard to improve defensively every day. He also made a huge offensive rebound late in the game and got Jerekius (Davis) on a cut for a layup. That was a big play in the second half.”

Hardy is one of a handful of Cajuns who have found new minutes in recent weeks. Mason Aucoin and R.J. Gladney have found niche roles defensively in the past few games as well. You can hear Bob Marlin speak about those two more above.
