Celebration of 1000th pet adopted from Lafayette shelter

Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux announced record-breaking 1,000 adoptions for Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center (LASCC) for 2018, as well as progress on the No Kill 2020 initiative.

 

 

LAFAYETTE, La. – The 1000th animal adopted, a black lab mix named Duson, was celebrated today with gifts and prizes.

Since January of this year, 1,000 animals have been adopted from the Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center.

Duson found his “Fur-ever” home with Jewel Everett at an adoption event on Saturday at Tractor Supply.

Duson’s adoption as well as LASCC’s milestone was celebrated at the shelter with a reception and press conference. Mayor-President Joel Robideaux spoke about the shelter’s success as well as the progress of the No Kill 2020 initiative.
