Louisiana National Guard to hold interviews for Youth Challenge Program

The Louisiana National Guard will hold interviews on Saturday, December 15 for the Youth Challenge Program. Interviews will begin at 12:00 pm at the South Regional Library. A second interview session will be held on January 12th at 10:00 am.

The interviews will be for enrollment for the Youth Challenge Program at Camp Minden. The program will begin officially on February 17. Applications can be picked up online at langycp.com or by calling 1-800-CAMPKID. The Youth Challenge is a 17-month program consisting of two phases, Residential and Post-residential.  Students accepted into the program spend 5 months at Residential Phase Camp Minden near Shreveport to students attend school and receive individual counseling.

The other 12 months are spent back home where graduates are guided by YCP case managers and community mentors to help continue their education enroll in college, begin job training, find employment, or enlist in the military.
