The first African-American mayor of Alexandria was sworn in.
Jeffrey W. Hall took the oath of office of Mayor for Alexandria, along with the city council. The theme for Inaugural Day is “Together Alexandria” which is designed to show unity around the central Louisiana region.
Mayor Hall was introduced by his wife before he delivered an official acceptance address to the community.
