State Police have identified the two individuals killed Friday morning on LA Hwy 95 near Linzay Road in St. Landry Parish.

The crash, which occurred at 8:00 am took the life of 31-year-old Linsey Carriere and 6-year-old Chloe Carriere both of Eunice.

An investigation by State Police revealed that Carriere was driving southbound on LA Hwy 95 and passing another vehicle when she failed to negotiate a curve and her vehicle exited the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch where it overturned and struck a utility pole before coming to a stop.

Troopers say that Linsey Carriere was not properly restrained at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. Linsey and Chole Carriere were pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner’s Office. A 3-year-old passenger received moderate injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.

It is not known if proper child restraints were used. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
