Natchitoches preparing for annual Christmas Festival of Lights

The oldest city in Louisiana is preparing for its annual Christmas Festival marking 92 years.

The annual Christmas Festival of Lights begins on Saturday, Nov. 17 in downtown Natchitoches. The “Turn on the Holidays” is part of the city’s 45 Nights of Lights.

The official lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30pm on the banks of Cane River Lake in downtown.  During the Christmas season Natchitoches presents 45 nights of lights for the Christmas holiday running through January 6, 2019.

According to the City, Over 300,000 Christmas lights and 100 lighted set pieces illuminate downtown Natchitoches and Cane River Lake every evening at dusk through January 6, 2019.

All Christmas events take place in Downtown Natchitoches along the banks of Cane River Lake and the Historic District. All times and dates are approximate and subject to change
