Suspect wanted in Carencro armed robbery, shooting

Police are asking for assistance with locating a suspect.

On September 29, 2018, shortly after 7:00 pm, Carencro Police Department responded to the area of Raceway and Rainbow Street in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to Chief David Anderson. Upon further investigation, it was found that Kendrick Kelly, 20 of Duson and Cleveland Jones, 20 of Carencro robbed the victim at gunpoint. As the victim was fleeing from the scene in a vehicle, Kelly and Jones began firing at the vehicle, striking the victims vehicle once, stated Anderson.

Cleveland Jones is sought by Carencro Police

An arrest warrant was obtained for Kelly and Jones for armed robbery, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On October 22, 2018, Kendrick Kelly was arrested by the Lafayette Marshall’s Office on the outstanding warrant. Jones remains at large.
