UPDATE: The man wanted in connection with an alleged stabbing has been arrested.
Deputies were dispatched Friday morning to the area of Bayou One Stop in the Bayou Chicot area after a caller advised them of a man fitting the description of Kevin L. West, 31, who was wanted for three counts of aggravated battery, according to Major Jeremy Mitchell.
West allegedly got into a verbal altercation with a family member which turned physical. During the altercation, West stabbed three family members in various areas of their bodies with what was believed to be some type of kitchen knife as described by one of the victims, stated Mitchell. Two out of the three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. All victims are in stable condition and wounds were not life-threatening, according to deputies.
Deputies were able to safely apprehend the West.
He was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he was booked on charges of aggravated battery and simple battery of the infirm.

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office are searching for Kevin Lee West, 31, in connection with a stabbing.
The stabbing occurred on 2400 block of Stage Coach Rd. this morning that resulted in multiple people being injured, according to Major Jeremy Mitchell.
He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a red shirt and no shoes.

Bayou Chicot Elementary was on lockdown but the school confirmed it has since been lifted.
