A convicted sex offender was arrested after he allegedly molested a girl after giving her drugs.

Jefferson Davis Sheriff’s office detectives interviewed a mother Wednesday that reported her juvenile daughter had been given drugs by an adult living in the same residence, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey, spokesman for the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Office. Detectives interviewed the girl and she confirmed the information her mother gave and additional information about inappropriate behavior and physical contact with the suspect.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Clarphy Treme, 57 of Elton, and arrested him on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile, molestation of a juvenile, use of CDS in the presence of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Treme was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail with no bond.

Detectives initially began this investigation with a narcotics search warrant execution on October 4, 2018, with the assistance of Elton Police, stated Ivey.

Treme was previously convicted in 1993 for indecent behavior with a juvenile and registered as a sex offender until 2015.
