Lafayette Police say a man has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation on Lafayette Street.
Police say that 26-year-old Brownswin Thibodeaux of Lafayette turned himself in on Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Ricky Wiltz of Lafayette.
According to a release, the shooting took place on Friday, August 31 at around 1:00 am in the 300 block of Lafayette Street. Police say Wiltz was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition but later died of his injuries.
Thibodeaux was arrested and booked on charges of second-degree murder. He was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
