A school board member in Iberia Parish is looking back on almost three decades in education.
Robbie John Leblanc announced in December he’ll retire after 29 years on the board.
He says he’s seen the school system go from chalkboards to smartboards, and upon his departure from the board, he has some advice for the group he leaves behind.
“I know a board member told me, and even my father, ‘Be sure when you become an elected official, whether it be a board member or whatever, that you use what the good lord gave you. Use these (motions toward ears) more than you use this (motions toward mouth),'” said Leblanc.
