Later today in Vermilion parish, the city of Abbeville could have a new policy for handling delinquent utility accounts. The city council plans to vote on an ordinance at today’s meeting. The ordinance states that if a resident with multiple accounts fails to pay their delinquent account by the designated cut off date, then “all” of their utility accounts will be disconnected..
Also at tonight’s meeting, the city will authorize the addition of a school resource officer for the school board.
