A man from St. Landry Parish has died from injuries he sustained in a crash this morning.
State Police Troop I responded to the crash on LA 71, south of Lemoyne, shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Troopers say 33-year-old Jovas Presley, of Morrow, was driving a pickup truck southbound on the highway when he drove off the side of the road. He then reentered the highway, crossed both lanes of travel before going into a ditch, causing the truck to overturn.
According to a state police spokesman, Presley was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the truck.
He was in critical condition when taken to the hospital. He later died.
Troopers say impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash; however, routine toxicology tests are pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
