A number of state and local officials met earlier this week to discuss the damage to portions of Henderson Levee Road (LA 352).  St. Martin Parish President Chester Cedars says all the players came together, and a plan of action was formulated for Levee Road.  He says they will begin a study to look at long and short term solutions for the road.

Officials at the meeting included State Rep. Mike "Pete" Huval, Parish President Chester Cedars, Henderson Mayor Sherbin Collette, Bill Oliver and Chris Knotts with the state DOTD, Darryl Pontiff with the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) and representatives of the Atchafalaya Basin Levee District along with several business owners.

Levee Road has been restricted to one lane for the past two years due to several dirt slides on the portion of the levee below the asphalt road.  The group will meet again in 90 days.
