St. Francis Diner in New Iberia received a monetary contribution from Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel today after the diner lost thousands of dollars worth of food in June due to a broken freezer.

Cypress Bayou presented the Diner with the funds they raised to help restock the freezer on Tuesday morning. Team members at the hotel and casino made t-shirts to help raise funds. Richard Picard, Advertising and Public Relations Manager at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel said in a press release that when team members heard of the Diner’s need, they knew they had to help.

Donations from the public can still be made online or sent to St. Francis Diner: P.O. Box 9106, New Iberia, LA 70562. The diner says they are currently accepting the following items at their facility in New Iberia: paper goods, cleaning products, nonperishable items, meat, and wild game.

All funds raised through the portal will be used to help repair or replace the freezer and allow the staff to continue to serve the community in New Iberia. The diner serves hundreds of people each day.
