Several brands of Swiss Rolls recalled due to Salmonella concerns

Flowers Foods, Inc has issued a voluntary recall of several of its Swiss Roll products due to the possible contamination with Salmonella. The company says that whey powder used in these products is the source of the possible contamination.

A third-party whey powder manufacturer and supplier initiated the recall, according to Flowers Foods.

Affected by the recall are all Swiss Roll products under the brand names Mrs. Freshley’s, Food Lion, H-E-B, Baker’s Treat, Market Square, and Great Value. These products were distributed nationwide.

Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread which was distributed to stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina have also been recalled. 

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. 

Consumers with these products should discard them or return them to stores for a full refund. Questions can be directed to the Flowers’ Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921.
