After we reported this week that the LPSS bus routes were all active on the Parent Portal, we got a lot of questions from our viewers about this.
Several viewers called and messaged KATC to say that they weren’t seeing a bus on their child’s record in the portal, or that they were seeing old bus routes from the 2017-18 school year that had changed midway through.
We reached out to LPSS officials to double-check, and they’ve told us that software updates won’t be fully complete until the end of business on Monday.
The portal software is separate from the bus route software, and the information isn’t totally integrated yet for the 18-19 school year.
That work is being done now, and should be complete by Monday, July 23.
Some routes and stops still will be changed prior to school, and perhaps even after school starts, because children are enrolled in school well into September and that may require some changes.
Officials say they are committed to "significantly improving" transportation this year.
