Some children are learning how to play Zydeco music from two local artists.

The Begnaud House in Scott hosted an A to Z workshop to teach kids how to play the accordion and rubboard.

Grammy award winner Chubby Carrier and Randall Jackson were on hand to show the children how to play the instruments and ended the day with a performance.

"The thing about the kids, they want to get involved," said Carrier. "When we invite them to play an instrument, they’re like me! me! me! That makes me feel good as a musician and as an artist to see the kids that want to play this style of music."

The Begnaud House hosts a family-friendly jam session every Friday night. For more information on the Begnaud House call 337.269.5155 or click here.
