The Iberia Parish School Board has selected a new member to temporarily fill the seat vacancy for District 8.
At the meeting Monday, Brad Norris was selected on a vote of 9-3 to take over the seat previously held by Edwin Buford Jr. Buford died earlier this month.
The position will be interim until a vote in November where the public will decide on a permanent candidate.
Two others were vying for the interim position tonight along with Norris. Those two were Tim Hoffpauir and Kevin Derise.
