Businesses in Church Point are helping three people get back into their home following inclement weather last weekend.

On Thursday, we reported Naomie Bordelon, her 5-year-old daughter and roommate were displaced after a tree fell on their home

Church Point Police Chief Albert Venable said the town didn’t have the resources to remove the tree and was hoping someone could help.

Today, local business with their equipment, along with volunteers, gathered at the home to remove the tree and clean up the damage.

Bordelon says she is very thankful for everyone who helped out. She said the volunteers are coming back to the house until it’s livable.

Bordelon and her roommate are currently living in the home without electricity but are hopeful they will get their home back soon. In the meantime, Bordelon’s daughter continues to stay with family.
