The Coast Guard is searching for a 55 year-old man who reportedly fell overboard approximately 100 miles south of Cameron Monday morning.
The Coast Guard in Houston-Galveston received a communication relay from the captain of a fishing vessel, Captain Edwin, at about 3 a.m., a spokesman said. The captain reported that a crew member fell off a nearby fishing vessel, Captain Kent, while the boat was anchored, the spokesman said.
The crewman who fell overboard apparently was not wearing a life jacket, the spokesman said.
A helicopter out of Houston, an aircrew out of Corpus Christi and a cutter out of Pascagoula are all searching for the missing crewman, the spokesman said.
