One person is injured following a shooting in Opelousas Saturday night.
Opelousas police responded to the hospital. A spokeswoman with the police department says a patient had been shot in the chest but is expected to be okay.
After speaking with the patient, police discovered the shooting occurred in the 800 block of S Academy Street.
The identity of the suspect and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
