Police are investigating two shootings in Lafayette that happened just a few blocks apart from each other. Both shootings according to officials happened within the last hour.

The first shooting occurred at the Circle K store located on Eraste Landry Road and Bertrand Drive.

Lafayette Police spokesman Karl Ratcliff says that a vehicle was shot at by an unknown person. Police report that there were no injuries.

Witnesses at that incident say that a man entered the parking lot of the store and allegedly began harassing people. After a few minutes, that man started shooting. Witnesses tell KATC that two people were grazed by bullets but no one was seriously hurt.

That store is now back open.

The second shooting happened on the 100 block of Macon Road. Police say a bystander was shot in that incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries after two unknown suspects exchanged gunfire. They have not been identified.

These two cases are not believed to be connected, according to police.
