Lafayette jockey injured in Iowa race now in recovery

The Lafayette jockey injured after falling from a horse at an Iowa racetrack in May is in recovery. 

Marlon St. Julien fell from his horse during a race on May 19, 2018. He was placed in intensive care shortly after undergoing spinal surgery. 

On June 12, 2018, Prairie Meadows, the racetrack where the incident happened stated that St. Julien had left the hospital in Des Moines and was on his way to a rehab and recover institute in Colorado. 

According to the racetrack, a person close to St. Julien reported that "Marlon was sitting up and had the ability to move his right hand."
