In April 2018 a check written by the victim in the amount of $300 was deposited in the Gartmans’ bank account, deputies say. The deposit was made using a mobile deposit application on cell phone, deputies said. The Gartmans are accused of altering the check to deposit it into a different account, at a different bank, a few days later. They’re also accused of altering the check a second time, and depositing it into a third account, deputies say.
