The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found near a levee in the Port Barre area. It is being investigated as a homicide by both the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office
St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s deputies have identified the body as a female.
Deputies with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATV accident around 7:30 p.m. and discovered the body wrapped up, according to a spokesman with their sheriff’s office.
The spokesman says the female was a missing person out of St. Martin Parish.
